@陽貴064: At the time of capture, that page was copyrighted 2003 by Google. Even if it was not so marked, per COM:US that page would have been copyrighted the moment it was fixed in a tangible medium of expression per the Berne Convention because the US joined that Convention 1 March 1989. Please read COM:NETCOPYVIO and COM:EVID.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 13:08, 10 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

064 (talk) 13:19, 10 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Delation request for File:Ivrea Nuova ICO 1970 linea di montaggio MC24-CR.png

[edit]

Jeff, last year I uploaded a photo titled “File:Ivrea nuova ICO 1970, MC24-CR assembly line.png” with the wrong colors. Last week I uploaded the same photo with the correct colors, titled “File:Olivetti MC24 C-R assembly line.jpg.” I’d like to delete the old photo with the wrong colors. Thank you. ~2026-39248-94 (talk) 17:42, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Jeff G., I saw the notice posted on my talk page. The file in question was File:Anacleto Colombiano.jpg, which is distributed under the CC-BY 4.0 license—as stated in the legal notice section of the source organization's website. I made sure to include a direct link to the section specifying the file's copyright status, but this was ignored and the file was deleted. I asked the user ZioNicco who originally tagged the file for an explanation, and it turned out they had misinterpreted the information on the website. Therefore, I am asking you to strike through the notice on my talk page. Thanks a lot. Flopao (talk) 14:13, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Flopao And File:Angelo di Costanzo.jpg?   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 14:53, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Jeff G. I just wanted to gently point out the timing, as your message arrived exactly while I was pointing out an error to another user. I strictly assume good faith (COM:AGF) and believe your arrival was a pure coincidence. However, I mention it because sudden third-party interventions during a disagreement can sometimes give the unfortunate appearance of canvassing.
However, for File:Angelo di Costanzo.jpg, this instance, due to an oversight on my part—and despite the warning—I failed to include the link to thesource file and the link to the legal notices; however, from what I can see, doing so would have made little difference anyway. Legal notices: "The use and partial reproduction of the Site's content are permitted, provided that Tuttitalia.it is always cited as the source and, where applicable, a direct and visible link to www.tuttitalia.it or one of its internal pages is included". Flopao (talk) 15:29, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
FYI, since I sent you a warning in Special:Diff/1098109825, your user talk page has been on my watchlist. I took a look at it again today after Special:Diff/1249364377, examined the history, and wrote Special:Diff/1249720994. Once these two files have been restored via COM:UDR and you have told me you fully complied with the notice at Tuttitalia.it, I will consider this matter closed and remove that warning.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 15:53, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Jeff G. I fully understand that I am on your watchlist, but the notice regarding the files in question was placed on my page nine days ago. I must admit, however, that I remain perplexed by the timing. While I am committed to assuming good faith (COM:AGF), I hope you can understand why, given these circumstances, I have these doubts. I trust we can now focus on the substance of the issue at hand. Flopao (talk) 16:06, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
P.S. Setting the timing aside, I must also point out that I find the tone of your warning—specifically the ultimatum threatening a block—to be disproportionate and frankly demeaning. I put a lot of effort into contributing positively to Commons and have always acted in strict good faith. Regarding the specific issue, the files were under a CC BY 4.0 license; if there was a technical error on my part, it was a genuine oversight.
Receiving a harsh block threat over an honest mistake, instead of a constructive note, goes against the collaborative spirit of the project. Flopao (talk) 16:11, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's a standard "end of copyvios" final warning, see {{subst:end of copyvios}}.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 16:23, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) (I'm an admin.) @Flopao: Jeff is correct in saying that is boilerplate. Also, what he's doing is pretty standard. Jeff is one of maybe half a dozen users here who really help out the admins by keeping track of accounts that have had borderline issues, and which are worth someone keeping an eye out for what happens next. He shows no sign of having a hidden agenda, just keeps his eyes open for what seem like they might be recurring issues.
If you feel these files were wrongly deleted, you should probably take it up with the deleting admin, who is the only one who can quickly do something about restoring them. If you don't get satisfaction there, but are still confident that you are correct, you can start a formal undeletion request.
Do be aware: in the future, any time one of your uploads (or anyone's uploads) is marked with a speedy deletion tag and you think that it should be kept, you can turn it into a normal DR, allowing for full discussion of why it should be kept. Most of the speedy deletion tag texts have an actual button for that purpose, though I believe a few do not. - Jmabel ! talk 19:12, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
